Sheeba, kidney and liver transplant recipient

Sheeba, from Corby, went into kidney failure due to a genetic condition which claimed her sister's life, leaving her young children without a mother.

She faced several operations before having a combined kidney and liver transplant.

Sheeba is now making the most of her second chance at life - she is a Community Safety Officer, has taken part in the Transplant Games, volunteers at her church and is learning sign language. Sheeba said:

"If my donor family didn't choose to have the conversation before they died I would have been long gone and not been alive telling my story."

"It's only with people with a big heart, like my donor's family, that recipients like me are alive today. So please give the gift of life... give people like me a chance today!"
