NHS70: celebrating 70 years
On Thursday 5 July 2018 the NHS turned 70 years old.
NHS Blood and Transplant is asking everyone to give us the best birthday present ever by doing something amazing today. With just a few clicks you can save lives by joining the organ donor register and registering to give blood.
Every day thousands of people’s lives are saved or improved thanks to the generosity of our donors. But, sadly, there are still lots of patients we can’t treat because we don’t have enough supplies. There’s an urgent need for donations. Please help, if you can. Save a life today.
The National Health Service turned 70 on 5th July 2018. NHS organisations around the country held events, celebrating their advances in science and technology and sharing their history in the run up to July.
Milestones and highlights
