We campaign to promote public awareness about organ donation and transplantation, encourage people to join the NHS Organ Donor Register and share their donation decision with their family and friends.
The need for organs is constant. Currently in the UK:
Around 10,000 people need a transplant but without donors they cannot be helped
Fewer than 5000 people each year die in circumstances where they can donate their organs
On average, patients from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities will wait a year longer for a kidney transplant than a white patient
If you die in circumstances where donation is possible, your next of kin could be asked to support your decision to be a donor. So a key element of our campaign is informing people not just to join the Register but to tell their family about their decision. It's a conversation that could help save lives.
Whether you're an individual, a business or a charity, there are lots of different ways in which you can get involved.
