Contacting your donor’s family or an organ recipient

After an organ transplant, many families are understandably keen to contact the other people involved to express their gratitude for a life-saving gift, or to help bring closure after agreeing to donation. There are also families and recipients who do not wish to have contact and this wish is respected.

It is never too late or too early to write. These pages explain your right to information and the role of our senior nurses for organ donation and the donor records department in this process.
