Centre for Evidence in Transplantation (CET)

It includes the Transplant Library, a centralised resource of trials, reviews, analyses and guidelines for the use of healthcare professionals.
Diabetes UK

Their mission is to improve the lives of people with diabetes and to work towards a future without diabetes.
About 1.4 million people in the UK have been diagnosed with diabetes. This number is set to double by 2010. Another million probably have the condition but don't know it.

Give2Live
Visit WebsiteGive2Live was set up in memory of Laura Hamilton, who having received two liver transplants as a toddler, died while waiting for a third transplant in 2007 just weeks before her 21 st birthday.
Laura’s parents decided to launch the organisation to raise awareness of organ donation and to encourage more people to join the NHS Organ Donor Register.

Kids Kidney Research
Visit WebsiteKids Kidney Research was formed, as the KRAF, by a group of people who had friends and family with kidney disorders. Although they were all adults with kidney disease, they decided to support paediatric kidney research since many would not have been in the position they were in had their conditions been treated in childhood.
30 years on it is one of the leading paediatric charities supporting kidney and urological research, helping to find cures and improve remedial care.
Kidney Wales Foundation
Visit WebsiteThe Kidney Wales Foundation aims to promote improvements in the quality of, and access to, healthcare for kidney patients in Wales as well as raising awareness of the need for more donors.
Through its fundraising it has helped provide dialysis units and finance consultant nephrologists, nurse specialists, social workers and psychologists in hospitals across the whole of Wales. It also plays an important lobbying role for the renal service in Wales.
The Foundation played a lead role in the development of the 'Tell a Loved One' campaign, funded by the Welsh Assembly Government which saw nine major charities work together.
Legacy of Life
Visit WebsiteLegacy of Life was formed by Sue and Richard Cansdale after the death of their student daughter Zoë, in a road accident in 1998. Zoë subsequently became a tissue donor. Their aims are to make people aware of the breadth of transplantation and to spread the message that organ and tissue donation has benefits for donor families as well as recipients.

Visit WebsiteIntially launched as a campaign by two friends with Cystic Fibrosis, Live Life Then Give Life is now a registered UK Charity whose mission is to save and improve the lives of all those in need or receipt of organ and tissue transplants.
The charity works hard to improve education and awareness by giving talks, hosting events and utilising the Media, as well as funding projects that increase the numbers of successful transplants in the UK.
The Nicholas Green Foundation
Visit WebsiteWhen seven year old Nicholas Green was shot on holiday in Italy in 1994, his parents Reg and Maggie donated his organs to help improve the lives of seven Italians. This led to a huge increase in Organ Donor Registrations. The Greens continue to campaign on behalf of organ donation and Reg Green has recently written a book in association with United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) where he talks to 42 people at different stages of organ transplant.
