There are currently 996 people in the North West waiting for an organ transplant. Although last year 335 people in this area received an organ transplant, the highest for several years – tragically during the same period 58 people died whilst waiting for a transplant.

1.4 million people in the North West have joined the NHS Organ Donor Register which represents 22% of the region’s total population.
