Ocular Tissue Advisory Group

The group is made up of representatives of ophthalmology services in each region of the UK, together with the eye banks, tissue co-ordinators and other interested groups.

The group has developed allocation procedures for cornea transplantation. Corneas can be donated up to 24 hours after death and are often stored before use, in most cases no matching is required and the procedure is carried out as a routine operation.
